Thirteen fillies and mares looking to break from the claiming circuit meet this afternoon at Tampa Bay Downs.

Under partly cloudy skies with southward winds in the upper 80's, a handful of athletes lead pre-race odds.

Vaunt (13) starts from the inside track at 7/5. The five-year-old mare shows two places in her 2020 runs.
Jockey Daniel Centeno's charge crossed second March 27 and has used the past month to re-charge. Vaunt claimed $2,400 in late March and will vie for the winner's purse today. The Street Boss sired racer won her inaugural run, a special weight claim in 2019, and has earned leaderboard money during three career starts.

Rachiely's Dream (12) gates beside Vaunt and holds the next best odds at 3/1. Dream owns one win and one place to highlight five 2020 sprints. Although, Rachiely gave out, finishing eighth in her latest Tampa start April 15. Not noted for breaking speed, the Harry Hernandez trained four-year-old was overwhelmed last time out. Though, four money claims in eight career runs make Dream a prelim contender.

And I Know (3) opens 4/1 after one win, three places, and one show through six 2020 bids. Consecutive runner-up finishes followed by March 15 Tampa win makes And I Know a decent money pick this afternoon.

Running for low stakes, look for 3-13-2 to lead the field.

Uhtred (1) starts outside at 5/2 boasting two wins and shows during five 2019 runs. The speedy Colt turned heads claiming $4,000 and runner up placement in his last appearance Dec. 21, 2019. Today's event will test Uhtred's staying power among the persistent competition.

Shootin the Breeze (14) 7/2 occupies the furthest gate from race seven's odds leader. Sired by Lazy Loper and Kathryn Frederick bred, Shootin the Breeze makes his paid debut today after standout practices.

Jack the Cat (8) and Exchequer (11) join today's crowded pack at 5/1. Jack has three leaderboard finishes, and a win, this year. Samy Camacho's gelding claimed $4,000 March 13 while flashing impressive acceleration.

Meanwhile, Exchequer has a win, place, and show in four 2020 starts. However, a fourth place April 3 finish was the Gerald Bennett trained gelding's poorest recent finish.

Americandy (6), That Quality (9), North Dakota (10) and Gentleman Joe (13) each check-in at 6/1.

In a crowded pace, look for 1-11-8 to finish in that order.

Four career starts show a pair of second-place bids on Never Forget's improving record.
