Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) is a multiplayer first-person shooter video game developed by Valve and Hidden Path Entertainment. It was released in 2012 and can be played on several platforms such as Windows, OS X, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Linux. Before the fast expansion of the Internet, it all started as a LAN-based game, which could only be played with bots offline or with other human players via a cabled network.

Now, it can be played with players from different parts of the world. Just like it is the case with previous versions of Counter-Strike, the CS:GO is about two teams who play against each other: the Terrorists and the Counter-Terrorists. Six years after the release of CS:GO, the battle-royale game-mode, “Danger Zone,” was introduced.

CS:GO Tournaments and Competitions

There are numerous CS:GO tournaments played all over the planet, and there are also qualifying tournaments for each continent for squads to be eligible to the top competitions like ELEAGUE, ESL One, EPICENTER, and more. You can find only the strongest teams at these tournaments. Valve is hosting two or three major tournaments every year for CS:GO, and each of these events has a prize pool of staggering $1,000,000.

How to bet on CS:GO?

Now when we went through the basics of this popular video game, it’s time to focus on betting on CS:GO. First of all, you must know what betting options you can choose from and the websites to bet on eSports. Almost every bookmaker is offering the following lines:

  • Moneyline -This is the most basic way of betting on CS:GO. It is just betting on the winner of the match, whether it is a single win match or the best-of-three match. Additionally, you can bet on handicaps, total maps (over/under 2.5), and numerous other options such as total kills, correct round score, and so on.
  • First Blood – Here you can bet on the player who gets the first recorded kill of the game. In other words, as a bettor, you will be placing a bet on a match in which player will get First Blood or whoever kills a player first.

Which currencies can you use?

  • Fiat and cryptocurrency betting – Just like it’s the case with standard sportsbooks or wagering, the bettors use fiat currencies when it comes to betting on CS:GO. Another popular option is cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin that can also be used in placing CS:GO bets as long as the sportsbook accepts such currencies. Some of the bookies who are accepting cryptocurrencies are BetDSI.eu, bookmaker.eu, Nitrogensports.eu, Bovada, and BetOnline.ag.
  • Skin betting – There are cosmetic options in CS:GO commonly known as skins. They offer no boosts in stats of the armor or weapons, so that means they are only for appearance purposes. Rare in-game skins can be found, which gives players bragging rights that they boast around while playing.

We hope that these basics will help you for betting on CS:GO, so stay tuned for future articles as we’re bringing you more guides to help you with betting on eSports games.
