BREAKING NEWS : Andy Dalton Signing With Cowboys
ESPN's Adam Schefter broke news on twitter just moments ago. It didn't take former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback long to find a new home. Andy Dalton is signing a one year contract with three million dollars guaranteed with the Dallas Cowboys.
This is an interesting signing as Dalton has heavy ties with the state of Texas. Not only was Dalton born and raised in Texas, but he also played his college football at TCU. The three-time NFL pro-bowler is the all-time leader in wins as TCU as well. After all of the rumors of Dalton possibly signing with New England, this move to Dallas comes as a total shock. Most people including myself didn't' even consider Dallas as a possibility.
So what does all of this mean for the future of the Cowboys, mainly Dak Prescott? One wouldn't think that there would be much of an open competition for the starting quarterback job as Dallas used their franchise tag for Prescott. I'm almost certain that Dalton will serve as a back-up. If Dak does happen to go down with an injury, he'll serve as a really good one, possibly even the best one in the entire NFL.
