College Football Perfect Ten Week 5: September 25th

Week 4 featured some quality conference matchups and helped some teams rise up the ranks. Here’s the latest Perfect 10 as the CFB Playoff scramble continues.

Perfect 10 Week Three

Sad to see you go: Missouri Welcome to the Playoff Hunt: Utah; Let’s take a look at our newest version of the Perfect Ten

  1. Georgia 3-0 (+360) - Well, it's here. The Bulldogs and Crimson Tide will do battle in Alabama. The winner is likely the #1 team in the country. The loser is very much alive in the playoff chase. Last Week: 1st

  1. Texas 4-0 (+500) - Manning did his thing last week and now the Longhorns get a porous Miss State defense at home. There isn’t a controversy but Ewers could take this one off too and it wouldn’t be an issue. Last Week: 2nd

  1. Ohio State 3-0 (+340) - Finally, somewhat of a test on the road this week at Michigan State. Nothing to fear in this one though. Buckeyes should move to 4-0. Last Week: 3rd

  1. Tennessee 4-0 (+1100) - The Vols make the big leap after finally getting over the hump and beating a top-25 team on the road with a win at Oklahoma. Their offense has been there but the defensive play this week should have opened some eyes. They are off this week. Last Week: 9th

  1. Alabama 3-0 (+800) - This is as good a week as any to figure out just how talented this ‘Bama team is. They looked great in a win over Wisconsin on the road but the Badgers aren’t the Bulldogs. Buckle your chin straps this week. Last Week: 5th

  1. Ole Miss 4-0 (+1300) - The Rebels have the benefit of film to watch how the Wildcats attacked the Bulldogs to keep that game close. I don’t see that happening this week when Ole Miss hosts Kentucky. Last Week: 7th

  1. Miami 4-0 (+1800) - The Hurricanes took care of business convincingly in the win over South Florida last week after a slow start. They now host Virginia Tech in their first real test since playing Florida earlier this season. Last Week: 4th

  1. Oregon 3-0 (+1000) - The Ducks face a familiar foe when they travel to LA to take on UCLA on Saturday. While UCLA played well in a loss to LSU, the Ducks know them all too well and should roll on Saturday. Last Week: 8th

  1. Penn State 3-0 (+2200) - Penn State gets their second legitimate test of the season, this time at home, when they face Illinois this week. The Illini are riding high after upsetting Nebraska last week and have a legitimate offense this season.

  1. Utah 4-0 (+5000) - The Utes earned their way into the Top Ten after a hard-fought and convincing win on the road at Oklahoma State. This defense is for real and if they can get consistent offense, they are trouble. Last Week: Unranked

Week Four Game of the Week:

#1 Georgia (-2) at #4 Alabama: I was skeptical about the line last week with USC favored at Michigan and I was proven to be right. This week, I’m not as skeptical about the Bulldogs opening as favorites despite being the road team. Defense always travels well and the Crimson Tide offense has to prove it to me against an elite defense. It doesn’t get any more elite than the Bulldogs’ defense.
