Could JT Daniels Transfer To Michigan?

The College Football season is still a few months away and sports fans across the world are hoping that it will take place as scheduled. In the meantime, we here at Winners & Whiners will look to keep you abreast of all of the news from around the sports world.

Today we will look at USC Quarterback, JT Daniels, who has entered the transfer portal. The team that he has an interest in at the moment is Michigan and wouldn’t that be a coup for the Wolverines. Last year, Daniels played in just one game for the Trojans after getting hurt early in the season and in 2018 he threw for 2672 yards with 14 TDs and 10 INTs. They are not extremely good numbers but he was a freshman in that year and making a move to Michigan could do him some good as he has a world of potential.

It would make sense for the Wolverines to try and go after Daniels as they need to replace Shea Patterson, who threw for 5061 yards with 45 TDs and 15 INTs in his two years with Michigan. He spent his first two college seasons at Mississippi. Joe Milton and Dylan Dylan McCaffrey are slated to battle for the QB position this year and both have very little experience. Getting Daniels would add to the battle and he could immediately jump to the forefront.

Michigan needs better play from their QB spot if they are able to finally take down Ohio State. Last year, the Wolverines lost to the Buckeyes by a score of 56-27 and while Patterson threw for 305 yards and a TD, he also hit just 18/43 (41.9%) of his passes while throwing an INT. The year before, he hit 20/34 (58.8%) of his passes and threw three TD passes but he also threw for just 187 yards and had a costly INT in a 62-39 loss. For Michigan, it’s all about beating the Buckeyes and unless they can get solid play from their QB, they will continue to struggle against them.

Could Daniels be the guy? That remains to be seen and he could still remain at USC for the next two years but if he did move on to Michigan, it would be one of the more intriguing transfers of the offseason.
