FATE Preview

HLTV World Ranking: 48th

The Bulgarian squad of FATE has been a very predictable team. They will pull upsets from time to time, but for the most part they will win when they are supposed to and lose when expected to. Train and Overpass are the team's two best maps with win rates over 64% on both over the last three months. They also have win rates over 50% on Inferno and Dust2 during this time. A downside to the team is the fact that they haven't picked up a map win on Vertigo or Nuke in a while.

The bulk of FATE's success comes from the hands of mar. This player averaged 0.73 kills per round although he's also died 0.68 times a round over the last three months. The team has somewhat been held back by the play of Zix recently. He's averaged 0.72 deaths per round over the last three months while only picking up 0.54 kills a round. If FATE intends on seeing any success in this match, mar has got to be the beast that he can be and Zix along with the rest of the team has to do whatever necessary to mount momentum.

Espada Preview

HLTV World Ranking: 44th

The Russian powerhouse Espada has been fairly consistent lately. They know how to get the job done, but they have times where they can't get out of their own way. Espada's big feature is that Inferno and Nuke are the only maps they struggle with, and they have win rates of 40% on Inferno and 33.3% on Nuke. Over the past three months, Espada has win rates over 50% on the maps Dust2, Train, Mirage and Overpass, and their strong map pool diversity has helped them register wins.

The statistical team leader of Espada is degster, and he's been outstanding lately. Over the last three months, he's held an average of 0.77 kills per round while only dying 0.6 times a round. The rest of the team holds a kill to death ratio of almost even except for S0tF1k who's averaged 0.56 kills a round while dying 0.68 times per round during the last three months. The key to victory for Espada is to not rely solely on degster. Yes, he's a really good player, but one person isn't even to get the job done.

Pick: Espada Spread/Handicap -2.5 Rounds (-110 @ Bovada)(1 unit)

I am going to fade FATE in this contest due to their predictability. Espada has the better roster composition which will be the key in this match. Both teams feature a pretty diverse map pool, and most best-of-one-map matches land on a map that both teams want to play. Espada has been better more times than they've been off, and I fully expect them to win this contest by at least three rounds. I'm not loading up on this play because FATE is a weird team that will randomly show up to play (example: their 16-6 upset of Hard Legion Wednesday), but I will play a unit with the better team.
