Free Picks for Delaware Park - 6/22/20

Race 4 - Maiden Special Weight ( Purse- $39,000)
12 young male runners with two also eligibles, will go one mile on the turf. There are several horses that stand out in this one, so I expect this one to be a spectacular race. I like #9 Bold Quest the best here. Bold Quest showed improvement in his last race over his career debut despite coming off nearly a three-month layoff as he finished second in a mile and one-sixteenth at Laurel. He also has been working out well and will have jockey Jevian Toledo, who has a 20% win percentage and a 55% WPS percentage on the turf this year. I also really like #4 Busster Von Trappe. The 4-year-old gelding is racing for the first time this year although he has four straight top 3 finishes along with a 60% WPS percentage on the turf. While I expect Busster Von Trappe to be off the pace in the early going the same can’t be said for #13 Palace Kitten. The speedy Palace Kitten certainly could be the one that breaks his maiden and is coming off a second-place finish -- four and one-half furlongs behind the winner -- the last time out on May 17 going one mile and one-sixteenth miles on the dirt. However, the 4-year-old colt has medaled in just one of his four career starts on the turf. #6 Walk Up Music is also a major player in this race. The super fast Walk Up Music has not raced in nearly three months and is coming off two disappointing finishes after starting his career with a second-place effort. He gets a little reprieve in the distance this go around. #1 Enjoy the Music and #12 Galilean Moon should also factor in the race.

Picks: I like an exacta box bet of #9, #4, #13, #6.

Race 5- Waiver Claiming ( Purse -$18,000)

Nine female runners will go one mile on the dirt in this $8,000 claimer. With all but #2 Letmeslidebyyou coming off a long layoff, I believe #7 Princess Palomer is definitely the class of the field. Princess Palomer has been in splendid form over her last 10 starts which includes registering a pair of second-place finishes in the first couple of months in 2020. The 7-year-old mare, who has finished either first or second in eight of her last 10 meetings, possesses the most speed in the group and has a 33% win percentage at this distance. While Princess Palomer could win this meet handily, there should be major competition for second and third. #4 Infinity Sky has not raced since January but she has a career 50% WPS percentage and earned a wire-to-wire victory against $6,250 claimers three starts ago at Gulfstream. The 4-year-old filly has a 20% win rate at this distance.#6 Misdriven is racing for the first time in 2020 though she enters the contest in fantast form, having finished in the money in eight straight meets along with a 65% WPS percentage. #1A Top Hat Tizzy and #3 Brazilian Symphony are candidates to fill out the exotic bets.

Picks: I like a win bet on the #7 if odds are 2-to-1 or better. I also like an exacta bet of #7, #4, #6 as well as a trifecta bet of #7 keyed with the #4,#6.

Race 8- Waiver Claiming (Purse - $27,000)

Nine male runners that have not won three races will go five and one-half furlongs in what should be a dandy race for $25,000 claimers.#7 Kid Slipper, like the majority of competitors, is coming off a long layoff as he has not raced since placing third in an allowance race for nonwinners of three going five furlongs at Delta Downs back in January. Kid Slipper has a 33% win rate at this distance and is 10-for-10 lifetime on the natural surface. The 4-year-old gelding, who is coming off a couple of very good workouts, has also scored a top 3 finish in each of his two previous starts at Delaware Park.#9 In The Loop is upping the competition after having passed his initial 2020 test with flying colors, going wire-to-wire to defeat $16,000 waiver claimers. Roberto Alverado will likely try to get the 4-year-old colt, who has two wins at six furlongs, upfront early as he is one of a handful of competitors that has shown good early speed. #6 Jersey Agenda has perhaps the most speed of the group though he is stepping up in class following at third-place finish versus $10,000 claimers at Churchill Downs about a month ago. Jersey Agenda is making his first start at this distance as well as at Delaware Park. #5 Like What I See is a candidate to fill out your exotic bets.

Picks: I believe that this is a pretty wide-open race so I will go with an aggressive show bet on #7. I also like an exacta box of #7, #6, #9.
