FURIA vs. Cloud9 Preview & Prediction - Free CS:GO Betting Picks 7/2

FURIA and Cloud9 will face each other in the cs_summit 6 North American tournament. The online event is a Regional Major Ranking tournament an provides a way for teams to earn enough RMR points to qualify for the ESL One Rio Major in November. Valve postponed the Major to November with an increased prize pool and a new qualification process.

FURIA Preview

FURIA is one of the best North American CS:GO teams. The team won the DreamHack Masters Spring 2020: North America and finished in the top three of the BLAST Premier Spring 2020 North American tournament.

Despite its recent success, FURIA’s results seem to point towards a slight lack of form from the players. KSCERATO is critical to FURIA’s performance as the player constantly puts up impressive results. With a 1.17 rating and 76.1 damage per round against the top North American teams, KSCERATO is a rising Brazilian CS:GO star.

With a 100% win-rate on Mirage, FURIA is undoubtedly one of the best teams on the map. In fact, most of the team’s proponents prefer to ban the map altogether rather than try to challenge the team on Mirage. However, FURIA is also very strong on maps like Inferno and Vertigo, giving the team a huge advantage in the map veto stage.

Cloud9 Preview

The 20th ranked Cloud9 CS:GO roster has shown consistent improvements int he past few weeks. However, after reaching the top twenty teams, Cloud9 has been unable to move past the ranks to improve its performance. Cloud9’s results have mostly stemmed from individual peaks and player performances.

Sonic and floppy have consistently put up big numbers. Floppy has a 1.16 rating, while Sonic has a 1.03 rating. However, Sonic’s understanding of the game puts him in prime positions and allows him to get impact frags that can alter the course of the entire round. Sonic has excellent coordination with his South African teammate, JT. The duo has been together on this roster for a long time and their one-two combination allows them to get many more frags than other players in the same position.

Pick: FURIA ML (-261 @ Pinnacle)

FURIA lost to Team Liquid and it was an upset. Despite the recent lack of form, FURIA is still miles ahead of Cloud9’s CS:GO roster. The team has a huge advantage in the map veto and will come out with three favorable maps. I am going with FURIA to win this match, although I would not rule out Cloud9 taking one map off the Brazilian squad.
