Gen.G vs. Envy, Preview & Prediction - Free 11/22 CS:GO

Gen.G has a strong opportunity to stay at the Flashpoint 2 and reach the playoffs when they face Envy in the Last Chance duel on Sunday. The winner of this Best of 3 encounter will advance to the playoffs and join the other seven teams, while the losing side will be eliminated.

Gen.G Team Stats and Latest Results

Gen.G finished the ESL Pro League Season 12 North America in 6th position and won $15,500 for their efforts, and even though they opened this tournament with a 2-0 victory over OG, they lost the following two matches. They even had a 1-0 lead against the red-hot Virtus.pro, but lost in the end, while OG got revenge for an earlier loss and secured a comfortable 2-0 win. Gen.G lost seven of the previous 11 matches.

During the last three months, Gen.G was above average only on Dust2 (66.7% win rate), while they didn’t impress on Inferno (20.0%) and Mirage (25.0%). Gen.G is playing with a new lineup that was assembled this month and appeared on just seven maps with a record of three wins and four losses. The lineup consists of Xizt (0.84 rating), BnTeT (1.07), automatic (1.01), koosta (1.06), and kreaz (1.08).

Envy Team Stats and Latest Results

Envy didn’t play since June, and the only reason they are participating in this tournament is that they are one of the founding teams; otherwise, they will likely be out of it. They weren’t bad in the opening two matches against forZe and MIBR as they won a map in each, but that was insufficient to avoid defeats.

In those two games, Envy won on Dust2 and Overpass but suffered losses on Nuke (played twice), Inferno, and Mirage. Just like Gen.G, Envy assembled its squad in November this year and appeared on six maps with a record of two wins and four losses. The lineup is made of LEGIJA (0.86), MICHU (0.97), Calyx (1.15), Nifty (0.97), and Thomas (0.84).

Gen.G vs. Envy H2H Record

These rivals have met once before, and Gen.G won that clash at the Flashpoint 1 in March this year.

Gen.G vs. Envy Betting Preview

Like I said, Envy shouldn’t bet at this tournament, but they are one of the founding teams, just like Gen.G. However, Gen.G is a better-ranked side and have a better team, and although I don’t think they will go fat in the playoffs, I am backing them to beat Envy on Sunday. The maximum Envy can do here is one map, but nothing more than that. Feel free to back the favorites.
