NFL Free Agency Recap 3/25 - A Relatively Quiet Day

After all of the busy blockbuster days before, Wednesday saw less action on the market than average.

The Eagles kicked off the day with the "headline" action if you will after they inked a one year deal with cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman to aid their secondary. The Jets made their only move of the day in adding inside linebacker Patrick Onwuasor, who's coming off a nice season in Baltimore with 64 tackles. Chicago beefed up their offensive line with a nice signing of a young talent in right tackle Germain Ifedi for a one year contract.

In terms of bigger names on the move, there were a few for the day. Dallas made a nice addition to both sides of the ball when they added tight end Blake Bell and defensive tackle Dontari Poe to their roster. The Buccaneers were able to reach a deal with defensive end Ndamukong Suh and they re-signed him for a one year, eight million dollar contract. Cincinnati made a huge addition to their defensive unit with the signing of safety Vonn Bell for a three year, 18 million dollar deal and Cody Latimer found a new home in Washington to wrap up the day Wednesday.

The Browns sit atop the NFL in free cap space at the moment, with Miami second, Houston third, the Jets fourth and Buffalo fifth. Interestingly enough, only one of these teams are holding a top-five draft pick with Miami hanging onto the fifth pick, and Cleveland is the only other team with a pick in the top ten as they have the tenth pick. One has to figure that these five teams, especially Houston, Buffalo and the Jets, will be very active in the next couple of weeks as free agency continues to unwind and the draft slowly creeps up. Of the 32 teams in the league, 26 teams have at least ten million in free cap space and with a bunch of big names still available on the waiver, it will be interesting to see how teams proceed forward.
