North vs. G2, Preview & Prediction - Free 11/15 CS:GO

North and G2 didn’t have luck in the opening round of the Group B playoffs at the IEM Beijing-Haidian 2020 Europe and now they have a chance to stay in the competition. Only a winner can progress to the Lower semi-finals, though, and G2 is a favorite in this Best of 3 encounter. The winner of this clash will meet a better side from the duel between Astralis and mousesports.

North Team Stats and Latest Results

North failed to impress at the DreamHack Open Fall 2020 after finishing in 10th place and winning $2,500 along with 1094 RMR Points. They managed to qualify for the IEM Beijing-Haidian 2020 Europe group stage thanks to wins over Endpoint (twice), Illuminar, and Sprout, but they lost to Heroic in the opening round. North won seven of the previous 12 matches.

During the last three months, North displayed fine performances on Vertigo (72.7% win rate) and Nuke (70.0%), while they didn’t play well on Dust2 (30.0%) and Inferno (42.9%). North is playing with the current lineup since August 2020 and appeared on 63 maps with a record of 34 wins and 29 losses. The lineup consists of cajunb (1.06 rating), MSL (1.05), aizy (1.06), gade (1.06), and Lekr0 (1.04).

G2 Team Stats and Latest Results

G2 had even worse result at the DreamHack Open Fall 2020, where they ended in 12th place and won $1,500 with 781 RMR Points. They bounced back at the BLAST Premier Fall Series 2020 and won one of the top three places that got a ticket for the BLAST Premier Fall Finals along with $25,000. Following a loss to NiP in the first round at this tournament, G2 now has to win in order to stay alive. G2 lost 14 of the last 19 games.

In the previous three months, G2 was decent on Mirage (66.7%) and Nuke (61.5%), while they failed to get a win on Overpass (played five times) and didn’t impress on Train (28.6%) and Inferno (36.4%). Since November this year, G2 is playing with the current lineup that appeared on ten maps and recorded seven wins with three losses. The team members are NiKo (1.16), huNter- (1.11), kennyS (1.00), AmaNEk (1.00), and nexa (1.04).

North vs. G2 H2H Record

These rivals have met on three occasions and North won two of those three duels, including the most recent one at the DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 – Europe in May this year.

North vs. G2 Betting Preview

Even though their record is far from being great in the last few weeks, G2 managed to improve with a new lineup that was assembled this month. That’s why I am giving them a slight advantage in this one, but that is not enough for me to back them to win this clash. North is perhaps 13 places below in the CS:GO rankings, but they won the last two H2H games and I cannot bet against them. I am going with Over 2.5 Maps instead.

The Pick: Over 2.5 Maps (+106 @GG.BET)
