Team Liquid Preview

HLTV World Ranking: 6th

Team Liquid is one of the top CS:GO teams in North America. The team rose to its peak in mid-2019 when it won the Intel Grand Slam Season 2 in record time. However, Stewie2k and co. have fallen off their peak since then. Their current rank is sixth, but their most recent form shows a slump for the team.

The players of Team Liquid are some of the biggest names in North American scene. Stewie2k has a 0.98 rating in the past few months and his under-performance is a big reason for Team Liquid’s slump. Stewie2k’s lack of form is not surprising since he has taken leadership responsibilities on the team. However, Elige and Twistzz continue to produce new records in gameplay with a 1.18 and 1.09 rating respectively.

Team Liquid does not play the map Train well. The team’s performance is the strongest on Dust2, Inferno and Mirage. But when it comes to their performance against top tier CS:GO teams in the online era of Counter-Strike Team Liquid has been inconsistent.

Gen.G Preview

HLTV World Ranking: 12th

Gen.G has also added several star performers on its team. Gen.G finished 1-2 in the group stage losing to Evil Geniuses and Cloud9. Ranked 12th in CS:GO, Gen.G has a lot of potential in its players, however, the team has failed to live up to its expectations recently.

The team’s only victory recently was against Triumph. The team’s performance against better ranked teams such as Evil Geniuses and MiBR highlights the team’s weaknesses.

The biggest problem for Gen.G is the lack of depth to the team’s map pool. Despite having a veteran in-game leader such as Daps, the team has been unable to improve its rankings and performance in the last few months.

Pick: Team Liquid Spread -1.5 Maps (+150)

Team Liquid has won the last two times these two teams faced each other. Gen.G has potential, however, they have not produced decent results lately. While Team Liquid is not at its peak performance, it is still producing strong results on an individual level. Team Liquid will win this match 2-0.
