The PLAY: Columbus Blue Jackets -140
The Blue Jackets aren’t dead yet in the playoff race, with Saturday’s 5-2 win at Montreal behind Jet Greaves in goal throwing a lifeline to Rick Bowness.
Though the East wild card places have been settled, Columbus still has a chance at third place in the Metropolitan Division, with two games to play and two points to make up on the Flyers. The good news for Columbus is that it will win a tie-breaker vs. Philadelphia based upon regulation wins (currently 28-26 edge Columbus). The Flyers will still have to lose at least once, or tie both remaining games, to give the Jackets a chance, but it’s a chance.
After Greaves has been a workhorse in goal the past few weeks, Elvis Merzlikins is expected to get the call from Bowness on Sunday, and will be facing a Bruins side that has clinched its playoff berth despite being winless in five straight games, four times scoring just once in those losses. We use the Jackets -140, at the low end of the marketplace on the overnights, but at the high end of where we like to go on the Money Line, and would rather not go past -145. Play Blue Jackets on Money Line
