The Mets have shown flashes at the plate, putting up 10 runs at Coors on May 8 and again in a 10-2 win yesterday, but they’ve also mixed in several low-scoring efforts in between. Still, this sets up as a favorable spot against Framber Valdez, who’s coming off a rough outing where he allowed 10 runs (seven earned) and now sits with a 4.57 ERA.
Mets RHP Christian Scott (3.27 ERA) has been solid early on, but he’s still relatively untested, and Houston has done a decent job backing Valdez with run support. With both pitching question marks and recent signs of offensive upside, this one points toward the over.
