The PLAY: Total Under 8.0 (-113) Andrew Abbott (LHP), Tanner Bibee (RHP) Must Start
We suspect the spate of high-scoring games in the just-completed Reds-Nats series had more to do with the matchup, fueled by all-hit and no-pitch Washington, as each of the three-game set at GABP featured 14 or more runs.
The Guardians, however, usually don’t get involved in those sort of shootouts, and the opener of this Battle of the Buckeye State shapes up a a potential pitching duel between Cincy’s Andrew Abbott (0 ER across 11 2/3 IP in his last two starts) and Cleveland’s Tanner Bibee (just 1 run and 1 hit across 6 IP last Sunday vs. the Twins).
