If the playoffs started today, Winnipeg would currently be on the outside looking in, so there’s still work to do. The Jets are expected to get gold medal-winning goaltender Connor Hellebuyck back tonight, and that should provide a spark. Despite an up-and-down season, he’s coming off his strongest performance of the year and should carry some confidence into tonight.
Anaheim is coming off a high-scoring win against Edmonton and continues to show progress as a rebuilding team. The youngsters are playing with lots of freedom and belief. However, Winnipeg has controlled this matchup in recent years, winning 15 of the last 20 meetings.
